Lenovo has just released the Legion 5i Pro, a 16" gaming laptop that will appeal to those who prefer a minimalistic aesthetic.
The seventh-generation Legion 5i Pro is designed with an aluminium and magnesium alloy frame for the best combination of rigidity and weight saving qualities and finished in a unique storm grey colourway.
Any semblance of flair comes in the form of an uncluttered wordmark, functional vents and the requisite light show courtesy of the new Legion Spectrum RGB lighting, a four-zone backlight effects system. And despite the thinner body, the system features an improved penta heat pipe layout with a larger exhaust area and an updated fan system.
As you would expect, there’s the usual one-two of the latest 12th generation Intel Core processor i7-12700H and the new NVIDIA RTX 3070Ti, which offers up to 150W TGP (15W more than the previous generation). Memory bandwidth has been expanded with the use of 4800Mhz DDR5 memory and the system supports up to 1TB PCle SSD (Gen 4) storage.
Lenovo says this is the world’s first 16" laptop series with WQXGA resolution (2560 x 1600) and 165Hz refresh rate. It also sports a respectable response time of up to 3ms and a screen brightness of 500 nits. The VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified IPS display covers 100 per cent of the sRGB colour gamut and supports Dolby Vision as well as NVIDIA G-SYNC.
The 80Whr battery has a Super Rapid Charge feature that charges a flat battery to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes with the dedicated slim power adapter. The Legion 5i Pro also supports up to 135W charging via USB-C. If you’re worried about battery longevity, the AI-powered Intelligent Mode optimises charging for improved battery longevity and thermal performance.

The Legion 5i Pro will be available at all Lenovo official stores and Lenovo authorised retailers from 3 March 2022, with prices starting from $3,499.
