Bang & Olufsen (B&O) is also getting into the spirit of Christmas this December. The Danish firm famed for their line of stylish audio-visual consumer electronics is giving its iconic line of audio devices a luxury makeover. While the idea of merely adding a new colourway may seem a little uninteresting, the fact remains that they look tastefully done.
And you don’t need to be a brain surgeon to realise that the true marker of taste is how well (or how terrible) you can make gold look, so it pleases me (no, really) to report that B&O’s new additions to their lineup have knocked it out of the park. Festive colour aside, the lineup, young and old, looks as though the B&O team had always intended them to be decked out in gold.
Collectively known as the Golden Collection, B&O says that their new colours have been “harmonised with natural materials like wood, marble and leather,” which is perfect if you have that sort of decor at home, but much less so if you don’t. The portable devices – namely, the Beoplay E8 (Gen 3), Beoplay H95, and Beosound A1 (Gen 2) – are far easier to make work, though I suspect that women will have a far easier time incorporating them into their OOTD shots then men will. That said, I’m willing to go for the headphones anytime, colour clash be damned.
More good news: there is no upcharge for the products from the Golden Collection (because we can’t assume there isn’t one), so if you have been eyeing any of these devices from B&O, maybe the new colours might sway you this around.
